Star Wars Movie and TV Release Date Calendar

The complete schedule of upcoming Star Wars movies and TV series, from Solo and Episode IX to Boba Fett and beyond!

The Star Wars saga continues with more adventures in 2019 and beyond. Next up on the release calendar is the final chapter of the Sequel Trilogy, the untitled Episode IX, which will see the return of Rey, Finn, Poe, Rose, Kylo Ren, and, most importantly, Luke and Leia! The movie is due out in December 2019.

Until recently, we expected a few more standalone films, including a Boba Fett movie directed by James Mangold and a new Obi-Wan interquel directed by Stephen Daldry, but it sounds like these projects were scrapped after Solo‘s poor outing at the box office. But don’t worry: this doesn’t mean the end of Star Wars movies after Episode IX! There are still plenty more to come, starting with an untitled movie in 2022, which is likely one of the projects currently in development at Lucasfilm. And there are quite a few TV series in the works, too…

December 16, 2022 – Untitled Star Wars Movie

Disney has confirmed that the Star Wars movie franchise will continue in 2022 with three new, currently untitled films. What could these projects be? It’s likely that these movies have to do with the series of films being developed by Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss as well as the trilogy in the works from The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson.

Whether these two series of Star Wars movies are still mutually exclusive is up for debate, but we’ll likely begin to find out after the Skywalker Saga comes to a close. Let’s tackle these projects one-by-one since we have no idea what these three new movies are…

December 20, 2024 – Untitled Star Wars Movie

All we know about Johnson’s trilogy is that this will take place in previously unexplored areas of the Star Wars universe, and it will kick off a brand new saga of movies completely unrelated to the Skywalker story. We wrote in more detail about what that might mean for the franchise right here.
